Chargers Cruise to Sweep at Malcolm X

GALESBURG — The Carl Sandburg College volleyball team served 10 aces and had nine players record a kill in a 25-8, 25-10, 25-16 sweep at Malcolm X on Thursday evening.

The Chargers (14-6) hit .338 for the match, including a .476 mark in the second set as they had 11 kills against one error in 21 attacks.

Ayla Cannon had a team-best seven kills for Sandburg, and Grace Evans added six on a .500 hitting percentage. Madeline Mooney had nine digs and served a team-leading three aces for the Chargers. Bailey Ryan served a pair of aces and had six digs in the victory, and AJ Rask had four kills, a block and an ace.

Setter Grace Vyhnanek handed out 16 assists for Sandburg in the sweep.
