Women’s Golf Finishes Season Strong at Viking Invitational
ROCK ISLAND — The Carl Sandburg College women's golf team concluded its season with a solid showing the Viking Invitational hosted by Augustana on Saturday and Sunday at Highland Springs.
All three Chargers shot in the 90s in each round, and Sandburg's combined total for the two days was its best of the season. The Chargers were led in each round by sophomore Averi Heintzelman (Sterling, Ill./Sterling), who had an opening-round 93 followed by a 90 on Sunday. Heintzelman's 183 total tied her for 40th in the field.

Freshman Anna Duden (Gifford, Ill./Armstrong) carded a 96 in each round, and freshman Olivia Schwingle (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) had scores of 96 and 99 for the weekend.
St. Ambrose's Amara Lytle was 9 over for the tournament to take medalist honors by two shots after shooting 79-74. Host Augustana won the tournament by 10 shots over St. Ambrose.
