Bentley Tallies 15 for Chargers in Loss to Scots

GALESBURG — Elly Bentley led the Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team with 15 points, but McHenry County defeated the Chargers 78-57 on Saturday at John Lewis Gym. 

KEY MOMENTS
• Sandburg led 6-4 midway through the first quarter before the Scots went on a 13-0 run to take the lead for good.
• The Chargers, who trailed 39-27 at halftime, got within 47-38 midway through the third after a three-point play by Bentley, but McHenry County closed the period with 14 of the final 19 points to extend its lead to 61-43.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Bentley hit 5 of 17 shots from the floor, pulled in six rebounds, had two assists and collected a pair of steals. The freshman point guard has reached double figures in three straight contests and 12 of the last 13 games.
