Chargers Pull Even in 4th but Come Up Short at Highland

FREEPORT — Highland pulled away down the stretch to outlast the Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team 82-68 on Thursday in an Arrowhead Conference contest. 

The Chargers rallied from a 61-50 deficit entering the fourth quarter to tie the game at 63 before the Cougars ended the game with a 19-5 stretch.

Lilly Isenhour scored 15 points and was one of four Chargers (8-15, 3-4) to reach double figures in the loss. Elly Bentley scored 14 points, and Sophia Gugliotta had a pair of 3-pointers as part of her 13 points on the night. Savannah Dominique added 11 points for Sandburg in her first double-digit outing since Dec. 1 when she had 15 at Illinois College JV.

Marija Markovic had a game-high 17 points and was one of five Cougars to reach double figures.
