Righi Tallies Season-High 14 in Loss to No. 15 Golden Eagles
GALESBURG — Natalie Righi led the Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team with 14 points, but 15th-ranked Rock Valley ran past the Chargers 95-51 on Saturday at John Lewis Gym.
KEY MOMENT
The Chargers trailed 20-15 with 3:00 left in the first quarter after a Gracie Sims layup, but the Golden Eagles closed the period with nine of the last 11 points. Rock Valley added a 12-0 early in the second to open up a 43-21 lead.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Righi had a season-best 14 points for Sandburg while going 4 of 8 from the field. The sophomore forward knocked down a 3-pointer and hit 5 of her 8 attempts at the foul line. She also pulled down five rebounds. The scoring output was the second-best in her Chargers career, trailing only a 22-point night last season against Kishwaukee.
