Chargers Survive Sauk Valley in OT as Isenhour Extends Double-Double Streak

GALESBURG — Lilly Isenhour had a season-best 28 points and racked up her sixth straight double-double as the Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team outlasted Sauk Valley for a 70-63 overtime victory on Tuesday at John Lewis Gym.

KEY MOMENTS
• Down 42-37 in the third quarter, the Chargers (6-12 overall, 1-2 Arrowhead Conference) scored 12 of the next 14 to grab a 49-44 lead. Isenhour came through with 10 of Sandburg's dozen points during the stretch.
• The fourth quarter featured three ties and three lead changes. Down 59-57 in the closing seconds, Dafna Boyarski found Sophia Gugliotta on the right wing for a long jumper with :05.7 left to tie the game and send it to OT.
• Sandburg never trailed in the extra period. Natalie Righi provided the go-ahead bucket on a putback with 4:30 left, and the sophomore forward added a pair of free throws for a 63-59 advantage. Elly Bentley, who scored 11 of Sandburg's 21 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, hit a pull-up jumper with a minute left and knocked down 3 of 4 free throws in the final :22 to ice the game.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Isenhour was a force inside, scoring all 28 of her points in the first three quarters. She finished 12 of 18 from the floor and sank all four of her foul shots. Eleven of the 6-foot freshman's 16 rebounds came on the offensive end. Her scoring total surpassed her previous high of 22 set last week at Black Hawk. Isenhour has a double-double in each of her last six games. She's averaged 19.0 points and 14.0 rebounds on 62 percent shooting (47 for 76) during the streak.
