
Pyle has pair of hits in each game of doubleheader vs. Kougars
GALESBURG — Hannah Pyle had two hits in each game, but Kishwaukee dealt the Sandburg softball team a pair of losses Thursday afternoon in an Arrowhead Conference doubleheader.
Game 1
Kishwaukee 11, Sandburg 2 (6 innings)

Key moments
• Trailing 4-0 in the third, the Chargers cut their deficit in half as a Jordyn Climer walk and Bailey Ryan double to open the inning put runners at second and third. Ailexa Hunter brought in Climer with a sacrifice fly, and Pyle delivered an RBI hit to center.
• The Kougars took a 5-2 lead into the sixth and used a grand slam as part of a six-run frame to put the game out of reach.
Sandburg standout
Pyle had two of the Chargers' five hits in the game. In addition to her RBI single in the third, the freshman third baseman had a base hit to right field while leading off the second.

Key moments
• Down 3-0 in the fourth, the Chargers got on the board with a pair of runs. Pyle opened the inning with a single, and back-to-back two-out walks from Alexis Brammeier and Tegan Cobb loaded the bases. Cheyanne Rodgers came through with a two-run single to left that brought Sandburg within 3-2.
• Again, Kishwaukee added runs in the late innings to pull away. The Kougars scored once in the sixth to make it 4-2 and added three more in the seventh.
Sandburg standout
Rodgers' two-run single was one of her two hits in the contest. The freshman second baseman added a base hit to center in the sixth as she finished 2 for 3.
