GALESBURG — Chelsey Catton pitched a complete game and reached base three times in the Carl Sandburg College softball team's Game 1 victory Friday against Madison as the Chargers' split a doubleheader with the WolfPack at the Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

KEY MOMENT
• Tied at 1 in the third, the Chargers loaded the bases with nobody out. Kayla Wolf singled to right to put Sandburg ahead, and Carley Hacke followed with a base hit to make it 3-1. After a strikeout, Riley Creasey drew a bases-loaded walk for a 4-1 Chargers lead.
• The Chargers added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth as four straight batters reached with one out. Natalie Righi singled — her fourth in four at-bats — and came home on a double from Maleaha Nagel. Catton added a single, and Wolf delivered an RBI hit to right for a 6-2 Sandburg advantage.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Catton kept Madison's offense at bay, allowing just two runs on five hits in a complete-game victory. She issued two walks and struck out one. At the dish, Catton went 2 for 3 with a walk, a run and an RBI.

KEY MOMENT
The game was scoreless before Madison broke through in the fourth without the benefit of a hit. A leadoff walk turned into a run after a bunt, a stolen base and a wild pitch.
