ROCKFORD — Maleaha Nagel homered in both ends of a doubleheader Saturday at 16th-ranked Rock Valley as the Carl Sandburg College softball team dropped a pair of contests a day after splitting a doubleheader against Illinois Valley.

KEY MOMENT
The Chargers took an early 1-0 lead in the first on Natalie Righi's RBI double to center, but the Eagles answered with seven runs in the top of the second.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Righi added a single to go with her RBI two-bagger, finishing 2 for 3 in the contest.

KEY MOMENT
Down 5-4 in the fifth, the Chargers went ahead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. Elly Bentley reached on an error to lead off the inning and advanced to third on Wolfe's double to center. Bentley scored the tying run on a passed ball, and Nagel knocked in Wolfe with a double to center to give Sandburg its first lead of the game.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Bentley finished 3 for 4 with a double and scored three times out of the leadoff spot to spearhead a 13-hit effort for the Chargers.

Righi was the only Chargers player with multiple hits, going 2 for 3 and matching Nagel's three-run homer with one of her own in the fifth.
