GALESBURG — Southeastern stymied the Sandburg men's soccer team's offense and handed the Chargers their first loss of the season with a 3-0 defeat Saturday at Kleine Field
The Chargers (4-1-2), who had scored six goals in each of their previous two matches, were limited to just four total shots against the Blackhawks.
Southeastern struck first in the 18th minute as Javier Hernandez brought in a centering pass near the top of the box and rifled a shot inside the top right corner of the goal.
The Blackhawks doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Juan Lagares found himself wide open in the right side of the box and put away a shot inside the far post. Lagares tallied his second goal of the day in the 64th minute as the Chargers turned the ball over deep in their own end, and Lagares connected with an unassisted goal.
Chargers keeper Lucas Sa de Albuquerque Maranhao made 11 saves in the match.
