Beers Ties for 9th at Southeastern Fall Invite as Chargers Place 5th

BURLINGTON, Iowa — Freshman Logan Beers had a top-10 finish as the Carl Sandburg College men's golf team placed fifth at the Southeastern Fall Invite on Tuesday at Burlington Country Club.

Beers, coming off a third-place showing at the Chargers' most recent outing, shot a 7-over-par 79 to tie for ninth. He shot 4 over on the front nine and 3 over on the back including a birdie on the par-4 11^th.

Sophomore Tyler Picken tied for 14^th with a round of 80, and David Hise carded an 82 for Sandburg, including birdies on the par-4 eighth and par-5 15^th holes. Kyle Shaw posted the Chargers' fourth score for the round with an 84.

Sandburg's 325 total was four shots back of fourth-place North Iowa Area. Hawkeye had the top three individual finishers and won the nine-team event with a score of 303. Host Southeastern was runner-up with a 315.
