Bockman ties season high with 16 points in Chargers’ 6th straight win

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Matt Bockman matched his season high in scoring and the Sandburg men's basketball team stretched its winning streak to six games with a 73-50 victory Monday night at St. Ambrose JV.

Playing in his home state, Bockman finished with 16 points against the Fighting Bees. The Decorah, Iowa, native had nine points in the first half and hit a pair of 3-pointers in the contest. Bockman also had 16 points Dec. 20 at DuPage.

The Chargers (15-8) took a 35-29 lead into the locker room at halftime and put together a strong second half, outscoring the Bees 38-21.

Ethan Price and Logan Sluder each scored 15 for Sandburg, which hasn't lost since Jan. 10. Sluder had 10 points in the opening half.

Chargers freshman Davante Bradford, a graduate of Davenport West, had nine points in his return to his hometown. Larry Olivier Jr., a Rock Island alumnus, scored eight in his homecoming to the Quad Cities.
