Dinnar’s 4 3s, 17 Points Not Enough in Road Loss to Eagles

OGLESBY — Roee Dinnar hit four 3-pointers and led the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team with 17 points, but the Chargers dropped an Arrowhead Conference contest 87-82 at Illinois Valley on Tuesday night.

Sandburg outscored the Eagles 53-48 in the second half but was unable to overcome a 39-29 deficit at halftime.

Dinnar scored 14 of his points after intermission, including three of his triples. The sophomore also was a perfect 3 for 3 from the free-throw line.

Easten Schisler, coming off a season-best 12 points against Kishwaukee, totaled a dozen points for the second straight contest. The Abingdon-Avon product hit two 3s and scored 10 in the second half for Sandburg. Koen Derry also finished with 12 points.

Jeremiah Babers hit three treys and had 11 points in the loss. Marckell Longstreet also reached double figures for Sandburg, scoring 10 points off the bench.

Illinois Valley's Wade Sims knocked down six 3s and finished with a game-high 26 points. Qu'amar Hobbs added 24 points for the Eagles.
