Sluder, Chargers Douse Prairie Fire for 2nd Straight Win

GALESBURG — Logan Sluder led the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team in scoring for the second straight contest as the Chargers made it back-to-back home wins with a 74-64 victory over Knox JV on Monday at John Lewis Gym.

KEY MOMENTS
• Tied at 17 in the first half, the Chargers (2-4) took the lead for good by scoring 10 of the next 13 points. Roee Dinnar opened the stretch with a left-handed layup. Jack DuBois followed with a rebound basket and scored six points during the run. Sandburg added a 6-0 run to finish the first half and take a 42-31 lead into the break.
• An 11-0 run got the Prairie Fire within 48-45 with 13:41 left. The Chargers maintained a three-point edge with 7:45 to play before pulling away with a 9-0 run. Ethan Price fed Marckell Longstreet for a layup to kick off the burst. Jeremiah Babers, Tyrese Grose and Sluder each knocked down a pair of free throws before Grose's rebound basket at 5:10 put Sandburg up 66-54.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Sluder once again gave the Chargers a spark off the bench, scoring a team-best 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting. The freshman guard hit 2 of 4 3-point tries, went 4 for 4 from the line, picked up two steals and had three assists.
