Dinnar’s Hot 2nd Half Not Enough for Chargers in Loss at Skyhawks
DIXON — Roee Dinnar scored all of his game-leading 20 points in the second half, but the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team lost 74-67 at Sauk Valley on Thursday night.
The Chargers trailed 33-18 at halftime, but Dinnar caught fire in the second half. The freshman from Israel hit four second-half 3-pointers and knocked down both of his free-throw attempts as Sandburg was able to close its deficit to as little as five points with under a minute left.
Dinnar's night was his second-highest scoring output of the season, trailing only his 27 points Dec. 17 at South Suburban.
Myles Estrada hit three 3s and finished with 13 points, and Hunter Caves had 12 points for his third consecutive double-digit outing. Connor Barnett scored 10 to give the Chargers four players in double figures.
The Skyhawks also had four players with double-digit scoring, led by Jake Gaither's 12 points.
