FREEPORT — Marckell Longstreet scored a season-best 17 points for the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team in a 95-53 Arrowhead Conference loss at Highland on Thursday night.
The freshman forward scored 16 of his 17 points in the second half for the Chargers, including a pair of 3-pointers. It marked Longstreet's third double-digit outing this season and his first since Nov. 26 against Milwaukee Area Tech, when he put up his previous best of 13 points.
Connor Barnett and Roee Dinnar each added eight points for Sandburg (7-17, 1-6) in the defeat.
Ramean Hinton led the Cougars with 17 points to match Longstreet for game-high honors.
