Grose Puts Up a Dozen for Chargers in Loss to Golden Eagles

GALESBURG — Tyrese Grose had 12 points, but a run by Rock Valley to close the first half helped the Golden Eagles pull away from the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team 78-46 on Saturday at John Lewis Gym.

KEY MOMENT
The Chargers led 16-15 with 9:10 left in the first after a short jumper by Grose and a 3-pointer from the freshman forward. Rock Valley, though, scored the next 14 points as part of an 18-5 surge to close the half and lead 33-21.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Grose finished with a dozen points on 4-of-6 shooting. It marked the ninth time the freshman has reached double figures this season.
