Dinnar Drains 6 3s for Chargers in Loss to Skyhawks

GALESBURG — Roee Dinnar hit a season-high six 3-pointers, but Sauk Valley pulled away in the second half to defeat the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team 90-65 on Tuesday night at John Lewis Gym in an Arrowhead Conference matchup.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Skyhawks led 28-14 in the first half before the Chargers put together an 11-0 run that included three 3s from Dinnar in less than 3 minutes to get within 28-25. Sandburg (5-14, 0-4) went into the break trailing 37-30.
• The Chargers scored eight of the first 10 points in the second half to climb within 39-38 with 17:35 left. Dinnar opened the half with another trey (his sixth of the night), Connor Barnett had a steal for a layup and Myles Estrada knocked down a triple in the stretch. The Skyhawks responded right away, though, rattling off 28 straight points to stretch their lead to 67-38.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Dinnar finished with team-highs of 19 points and five rebounds. The freshman forward shot 6 of 15 from long range, with five of his makes coming in the first half as he went 5 for 10.
