Caves Tops Chargers With 12 Points in Loss to Loggers
GALESBURG — Hunter Caves had a team-best 12 points in the Carl Sandburg College men's basketball team's 81-49 loss to Lincoln Land on Wednesday night at John Lewis Gym.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Chargers (3-8) tied the game at 19 with 7:45 left in the first half on a Tyrese Grose layup, but the Loggers held Sandburg to just one field goal in the remainder of the half. Lincoln Land went into the locker room with a 37-23 lead.
• Lincoln Land scored nine of the first 11 points in the opening two minutes of the second half to extend its lead.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Caves finished with a dozen points on 3 of 11 shooting. He hit 6 of his 7 free throws and also grabbed six rebounds, one behind Grose for the team lead. Caves has scored in double figures in eight of the Chargers' 11 contests this season.
