Dominique Tallies 15 Off Bench in Road Loss to Lady Blues

JACKSONVILLE — Savannah Dominique scored a season-best 15 points off the bench, but the Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team was unable to close out a lead entering the fourth quarter in a 72-63 loss at Illinois College JV on Thursday.

The Chargers (3-7) went into the locker room trailing 37-28 but outscored the Lady Blues 20-6 in the third quarter for a 48-43 lead. IC, though, grabbed the lead midway through the fourth and outscored Sandburg 29-15 in the final period.

Dominique did much of her damage at the foul line, going 9 of 12. She was 3 of 5 from the field and had four boards and two steals.

Elly Bentley finished one point shy of extending her streak of 20-point games to five, but the freshman still led the Chargers with 19 points on 8-of-20 shooting in addition to pulling in five rebounds.

Lily Hudgins, coming off a career-best 24 points in Sandburg's win Monday at Southeastern, added 13 points. She finished 5 of 14 from the field, including 3 for 9 from 3-point range.

Lilly Isenhour grabbed a team-best 13 rebounds (seven offensive) and was a point away from her third double-double of the season. Isenhour was one rebound away from tying her season-best.
