Isenhour, Gugliotta Dominate Glass as Chargers Rally for Win at DuPage

GLEN ELLYN — Lilly Isenhour put up a double-double and Sophia Gugliotta pulled down 18 rebounds as the shorthanded Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter for a 59-53 win at DuPage on Thursday.

Isenhour matched teammate Elly Bentley for game-high honors with 18 points, and she racked up 12 rebounds — including seven on the offensive glass — for her first collegiate double-double. Twelve of Gugliotta's 18 boards came on the offensive end as the Chargers (2-3) outrebounded the Chaparrals by a whopping 61-35 margin.

Sandburg won despite being without sophomores Addison Eger and Natalie Righi, who sat because of injury.

The Chargers trailed 44-43 entering the fourth quarter and 48-45 with 8:35 to go before pulling ahead for good with a 10-0 run. An Abbey Donaldson bucket at 7:46 kicked off the go-ahead stretch before three straight Bentley baskets gave Sandburg the lead. Gugliotta capped the run with a putback basket with 4:01 to play.

Bentley played all 40 minutes and scored 18 points on 8-of-21 shooting while adding four assists.

Sierra Gibson had 15 points to lead DuPage.
