Hunter homers for 2nd straight game as Chargers split with Wolves
GALESBURG — The Carl Sandburg College softball team split its doubleheader in interesting fashion Monday against Joliet as the Wolves were forced to forfeit Game 2 after not having enough players to finish the contest.
The nightcap was tied 6-6 in the bottom of the fifth when Joliet was left with just eight players. The game was called, and the Chargers were awarded the victory. Joliet won the opening contest in five innings.

KEY MOMENT
Kaitlyn Egenes knocked a three-run home run in the bottom of the first to give the Chargers a 3-2 lead, but the Wolves opened the second with nine consecutive hits and put up eight runs in the frame to go up 10-3.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Ailexa Hunter had a pair of extra-base hits as she extended her hitting streak to eight games. Hunter went 2 for 3 with a pair of runs and two RBIs. She collected an RBI triple in the third and homered to lead off the fifth. It marked her second straight game with a home run and was her fourth on the season.
