Trinidad’s 2-HR game leads Chargers in split against Kishwaukee

GALESBURG — Yasiel Trinidad cracked his first two Sandburg homers in Game 1 against Kishwaukee on Saturday as the Chargers split an Arrowhead Conference doubleheader with the Kougars. Sandburg followed with a pair of losses Sunday at home against South Suburban.

Joel Medina's first-inning home run opened the scoring, and the Chargers scored three in the second on Brady Veselack's RBI double and a two-run homer from Trinidad for a 4-1 lead.
• Up 6-3 in the sixth, Sandburg put up seven runs to end the game via the mercy rule. Trinidad's added another two-run homer to kick off the scoring in the frame.

Trinidad's pair of homers marked his first in a Chargers uniform. He finished 2 for 4 with two runs and four RBIs out of the leadoff spot.
